A LITTLE HELP, WHEN YOU NEED IT

Back to listening.

A few things to know about connecting your system and getting the most from Resonant.

How do I connect my speakers?

Keep your phone or computer on the same local network as your Sonos system, then open Resonant. The app searches for speakers automatically. Your Sonos system must already be set up; use the official Sonos app for first-time setup or adding music-service accounts.

Why aren’t my rooms showing up?

Check that you are on your home Wi-Fi rather than cellular or a guest network. Guest network isolation and VPNs may prevent local discovery. Try discovery again, or enter a known speaker’s local IP address using Resonant’s manual connection option. Your router’s device list or the official Sonos app can help identify a speaker’s address.

What works with S1 and S2?

Resonant is designed to show separate S1 and S2 households in one interface. Current live hardware validation covers S1. S2 protocol and interface behavior have simulated test coverage, but physical S2 testing is still pending.

Only compatible speakers within the same household and generation can be grouped. S1 and S2 cannot be combined into a synchronized playback group. Sonos explains separate S1 and S2 systems here.

Can I search the full Spotify catalog?

Search currently covers saved content loaded by Resonant, including your Sonos favorites. It is not a full Spotify catalog search. Existing service subscriptions and authorizations on your Sonos system still apply.

Which controls are included?

Resonant includes favorites, saved-content search, queues, playback, room volume and mute, compatible-room grouping, bass, treble, loudness, and sleep timers. Available controls depend on the speaker, playback source, and service.

Do I still need the official Sonos app?

Yes. Use the official app for speaker setup, music-service account setup, firmware maintenance, and Trueplay. Resonant focuses on everyday listening and room controls.

Do I need a Resonant account?

No. Resonant connects directly to your speakers over your local network. It does not require a Resonant account or send your playback controls through a Resonant cloud service. See the privacy page for details.
